Greetings and Blessing!
It is common knowledge that the Jewish educational facilities in this city are functioning for more than twenty years and are deserving of the highest esteem.

I am familiar with the internal workings of all the facilities, notably made up of six day-care facilities, sixteen kindergartens, afternoon child care facilities and more. Ethnic backgrounds include those of Argentinean, Ethiopian, Russian, Yemenite, Sephardic, and Ashkenazic, religious and non-religious alike. Two hundred girls make up the student body of our religious public school system. All in all, we service nine hundred boys and girls as part of our educational service in the public school system.

Most of the actual structures which house all on going operations are in a terrible state of deterioration and as such require monetary assistance in order to initialize massive renovation that would provide a conducive atmosphere and at the same time enhance children's intellectual skills to the utmost.

We will provide you with a brief socio-economic and ethnic outline of our student population. Eighty percent of the families are affected by divorce and drugs. Steady, if any income is very hard to come by for our students' parents. Drug use is encouraged for a variety of motives. It provides an easy escape from reality. Drugs, at the same, provide fast money for those who sell them.

Our facilities provide a supporting and caring hand for these so neglected children. They provide "parental" support and at the same time provide for each and every child that walks into our doors a solid well-rounded education that will stay with them for the rest of their lives.


Special attention is given to preschoolers in our day care centers. Each group has 15 children under the guidance of 3 nannies. They constantly care for and keep the children clean, in addition to being with them when they wake up in the afternoon and at meal times.

The "Chinuch and Chesed Center" offers the children supervised transportation throughout the day all over Kiryat Gat area, having at its disposal 4 mini vans of its own and 2 from a private company.
In addition, all of our children receive two hot nourishing meals daily. On a larger scale, we deliver twice a week hot meals to eighty economically deprived families around the city of Kiryat Gat struggling for survival. Otherwise, most, if not all of them wouldn't receive the basic minimal nutritional requirements, thereby endangering their actual survival.It is my fervent hope that jointly, we will be able to help these most worthy facilities and will be able to provide the highest attainable standards that education has to offer.

Chinuch and Chessed Center has been helping needy children and their families in Kiryat Gat for over 25 years.

The difficult economic situation in Israel is going from bad to worse with the government cutting down drastically on the grants to all schools.

We are appealing to you now for your assistance in funding one of the many projects that we have undertaken. Please choose from one of the four projects below and become a partner in this great mitzvah.

for a family for one week.

2. "Bedding for Baby": Crib, mattress, linen, carriage, etc. $180.00

3. Funding a child in a day care center or preschool for one month. $300.00

4. Playground and equipment for the yard of the day care center. $5,500.00
